Biography
Chloe Potter caught the performance
bug at the young age of six, learning
piano, and quickly progressing onto
clarinet, saxophone and other
woodwinds. Trained firstly as a
classical clarinetist, achieving her
grade 8 within her second year of
secondary school, and performing in
ensembles such as the National Youth
Orchestra, Chloe learnt jazz
saxophone for her own interest,
emulating recordings of her favourite
artists, and regularly attending
Musician's Union jam sessions.
She began to experiment more
seriously with Jazz during her time
at Alton College Sixth form college,
Hampshire, under the guidance of
teacher and composer, Martin Read.
Her Saxophone tutor at the time was
Malcolm Miles, who she studied with
at the Guildhall School of Music and
Drama Junior School throughout
secondary school and into her sixth
form years.
Chloe went on to complete a BMus in
Music at the acclaimed Guildhall
School of Music and Drama, London,
and graduated in July 2007. During her
time there she was fortunate enough
to perform and study with some of the
UK's finest jazz musicians such as
Kenny Wheeler, Phil Donkin, Martin
Hathaway, Pete Churchill and Martin
Speake.
Since graduating Guildhall, Chloe has
continued to perform with a diverse
variety of groups, from work with
bigbands such as the Ian James
Bigband, to saxophone quartets, funk
ensembles, film premieres and
classical solo performances. She also
works as a composer, having been
commissioned to write music for short
films and youtube projects – one such
film went on to be premiered at the
Hastings Film Festival, winning first
place.
Notable venues Chloe has performed at
include The O2 Centre, The 606 Jazz
Club, The Vortex Jazz Club, The Royal
Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, and
